Hello Joseph,
I’m back at work. I wanted to send you information about our trip but could not find any time until now. Here is some of the information:
- The car did perfectly the job we wanted.
No problems with engine, beaks, overheating, oil, shock absorbers …or thinks which happened in our previous trips in Africa.
We can and we would recommend your company for this.
- If you have customers who require some information about your car and your reliability, do not hesitate to give them my Email, I will recommend you business.
- To our point of view, the parks in Uganda are less populated with game than Kenya or Tanzania . Therefore there no need to run from one place to another. The country should be appreciated in, in what I call “Macro view”. It means: to take time to stop in villages and have a drink, watch the local live; walk to a nice place and sit for an hour … Fishing could be a good activity, even in smaller rivers …
-As we haven’t seen the north, my idea is to come again to Uganda . The destination would be Murchison then Gulu and perhaps toward Sudan or even to South Sudan .
o The goal would be to see, not only the national park but also some of the “macro view”.
Thanks and friendly greetings.

We're just back from 3 weeks in Uganda, two of them spent touring with Nature Link Safaris. There hasn't been a review of this organization in some time, so we thought we'd put in a plug for them.
We chose Nature Link in part because Joseph Koluo's replies to our emails showed that he understood what we wanted from our tour, and he did a good job setting an itinerary at the pace we preferred. A professor at Kent State who has brought college students to Uganda for field study gave Nature Link a glowing review, and we also liked the fact that they are Ugandan-owned.
The two of us toured 5 of the national parks and were very happy with the entire experience. Morris Masereka was our driver/guide/naturalist/mechanic/philosopher. He previously worked for ten years as a UWA ranger and guide, mostly at QENP, and he seemed to know everybody connected with the parks and tourism on a first name basis. He really loves observing nature and helping his clients to see what there is to be seen. He's about 85-90% accurate on bird identification from a moving vehicle, and that's without binos. He knows all the back roads and good viewing sites and when animals are likely to be there. He also took us to two eateries not on our itinerary so we could dine on local foods like matoke, goat stew, posho, dodo, etc. He just made the entire tour a thoroughly enriching experience for us.
The tour we received was essentially what we had asked for, and the only surprises were pleasant ones. The price was in line with what other operators had quoted, and possibly less than what friends have paid for a group tour elsewhere in East Africa. The big advantage of travelling privately rather than in a group is that you can set your own schedule as the situation and your mood dictates; to us it seemed much more satisfying and relaxing that way. And a big advantage of touring in Uganda is that you're generally able to enjoy the moment alone and not surrounded by hordes of other tourists.
In summary, we recommend Nature Link Safaris enthusiastically.Jane and Bob from USA 2010 |
Dear Joseph,
Let me start by saying thank you for organising this most amazing and enjoyable trip in Uganda for us. You made sure that we experienced only the best of the very best Uganda's hospitality could offer. I only wish I could stay longer or one day, maybe, go back for more.
One picture I attached is of myself, just so that you know who is sending you this e-mail. Another is of the baby Gorilla I so desperately wanted to bring back with me. Then there are a few more to share with you, some of the special moments. Actually---every moment of the entire trip was special to us. Thank you yet again!
Please keep up your excellent service to your customers.
Keep well and all of the best,
Andre Swanepoel from South Africa (5 pax from 5th-12th September 2009) |
Hello Nature Link safaris Team!
I just wanted to write and say how Nature Link really made my trip to Uganda amazing. Your services were excellent and I always felt safe and taken care of. The driver for our van, Noah, was excellent! He was an amazing driver, very personable, and very professional. Our guide Charles was also very fun and knowledgeable, and our other driver Morris did a fantastic job driving and taking care of us. I also briefly met Edris, who is a very smart and well-rounded individual. I didn't want to leave Uganda after having such a wonderful experience, but I will be back to see you all again sooner or later! I miss you all and had such a great time. I have been telling all my friends/family how awesome Nature Link is!
Hope all is well and God bless,

Hi Joseph,
Thanks very much for your message.
My parents had an excellent safari trip to Kibale /Queen and were very impressed with Noah as a driver and guide! They had asked me to write and tell you how professional he was.
They, and I, would highly recommend him (and your company). I will do so for any future visitors and will recommend you to friends here.
Best regards,

Dear Joseph,
I wanted to thank you once again for organising my fantastic holiday in Uganda! I had the best time and I am very happy to have many wonderful memories and pictures from Uganda to keep for life.
Noah was the perfect driver/guide and very good for spotting the animals on safari. Please convey my thanks and best regards to him too.
I will send you a couple of my best photographs in the following emails.

Dear Joseph!
A week ago we came back from our wonderful round trip through Uganda. In the name of our group I can tell you, that every day brought minimum one highlight, often more than one. The organisation was perfect and we liked the people, the landscape, the animals and the lodges. We liked also highly our guide and driver Maurice. He was friendly and intelligent, he drove carefully and he managed everything, which we asked for. If we recommend a group to Nature Link Safari we will tell them also to ask for Maurice. Your company I recommended also to my travel agency in Austria. We liked all the lodges, wherever we can say, that Mihingo was number one. There we liked also the landscape around the lake Mburo National Park. Thank you for the organisation and greet Maurice from all of us. Kind regards,Gerhard Merkens, 06 pax from Austria Nov 2008 |
Dear Mr. Joseph Andrew Koluo,
From November 9th through 23rd Nov 2008, I was traveling with Mr. Merckens in Uganda, and the agent who has organized this splendid tour was you and/or your company. I have enjoyed this vacation tremendously, we have seen so much of your country, the people, the wonderful landscape, those many gorgeous animals incl. the gorillas and many extraordinary accommodations. A very great part of the success of our trip is due to our guide and driver Morris - he has proved to be a real treasure!! His English is perfect, his ways and manners are most lovely, he knows a lot about your country and the animals, he was a very careful driver and we never had any bad situation. It was simply a pleasure traveling with with and having him at pur side, anytime!
Thank you for this wonderful travel I had in the recent past.
Sincerely yours, Dr.Ch.Leydolt from Austria

Hi Joseph,
Thanks again for organising such a fabulous trip. We really loved Uganda, and would love to come back and see more of the country. Also the people in uganda were the nicest that we met! Watu wa Uganda mzuri sana!
Charles and Morris were fantastic guides and really nice guys- we liked them allot. They always looked after us very well, and we felt as though they were our friends and were very sad when it was time to say goodbye.
All the accommodation in Uganda was great (except for Mweya Hostel). We especially loved the Community Bandas at Bwindi, I would love to spend a whole week there, it was lovely.
The Muhabura Guesthouse in Rwanda was ok.Our guide, Khalfan from Tanzania, was fantastic! He was really an expert safari guide. All the accommodation was also very nice.
So in summary we were very happy with the way you organsied our trip and i would book a trip with you again and recommend you to other people. Best wishes,

Dear Joseph,
I returned home safely to Australia last Tuesday after an amazing holiday
in East Africa, thanks to the great itinerary you prepared for us, & to
the wonderful guides/drivers, Morris & Charles in Uganda, Khalfan in Tanzania, &
David & James in Nairobi. They found us a great variety of animals and
birds & identified them, and told us about the culture & customs of the
people. David & James showed us the sights of Nairobi.
Please pass on my gratitude to Morris & Charles who were great guides & a
lot of fun & who were very helpful to me when I lost the passport. I
appreciate it very much.
I wish your company well, & will do my best to spread the word about
Nature Link Safaris Uganda-- I loved your country & the people were
beautiful happy people,
Thanks so much,

Hi Joseph,
My fiancee, Nelson, and I recently spent time in Rwanda and had guides from Nature Link , Noah and Charles. I wanted to let you know that they were the best guides we had our whole trip!! We went to Uganda and Kenya after Rwanda and I really wish we could have had the 2 of them for the whole trip. They were friendly, talkative and accommodating. We really appreciated their help and friendship and please know we will definitely recommend your company and especially Charles and Noah to our friends and family! Thank you again for a wonderful adventure!

Hi Joseph,
I hope this email finds you and your family in good health. In short, our tour was fantastic. We really had a great time and of course the gorillas were the highlight. Charles was a great tour guide being very considerate and thoughtful to our every need. We are just sorry that he took ill and had to go through all he did. Even so he was still so concerned about us all the time. When we were talking with Charles we mentioned that there are two magazines in SA that are read extensively by people wanting to travel. I have included their web sites below as thought it may be worth looking into for advertising purpose. We have raved about your company to all we have spoken and told our story to, so let hope that there will be some interest shown.
Best regards,

Joseph-It has been two months now since our travels to Uganda with Andy. I miss it already. Nature Link Safari made the experience something I will never forget. There will always be a place in my heart for Uganda and I hope to return some day. I wanted to thank you and specifically Charles for contributing to my experience. His knowledgeable commentary as well as his friendly personality made the trip better than words can describe. Thanks again and I hope to see you soon.

Dear Joseph, I hope things with you are well. We had a good trip back home, although I have been missing all the fun times we had in
Uganda! I want to thank you very much for organizing such a wonderful
trip for us. Through our travels, I discovered a lot about Uganda.
The natural landscapes are spectacular! I was surprised at how varied
the scenery can be -- tropical rainforests, flat grassy plains, crater
lakes, and always the beautiful backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains.
There was so much wildlife -- monkeys, elephants, birds, zebras,
lions, and more! It was exciting to get to see these animals in their
natural environment. For me, one of the best parts of the trip was
getting to meet all of the kind and welcoming people along the way.
Our guides were extremely knowledgeable about the Parks. And our
driver, Charles, taught us a lot about local culture and became a
great friend to us. Thank you for a truly amazing experience! I
would recommend Nature Link Safaris to anyone traveling to Uganda.
I'm attaching some photos to this email; I hope you enjoy them and
maybe some will be useful for your web site.
Best regards,

Joseph, the Guide was a very fine owner/ operator that looked after our needs in a very new land for us!
Noah is a fantastic driver. I would never have imaged anyone being able to navigate these rocky roads.
The scenery was amazing and the Gorilla trek is a life time experience for our family!

Dear Joseph, We had a really great time in Uganda - thank you!! We are still quite stunned about the beauty of your country and how nice people are (much nicer and safer than Kenya and Tanzania!).
Charles, your driver/guide did a great job! He is a very proud man though, but we did get along very well together and enjoyed the time with him a lot! |
|
Joseph, I also talked to George Atube (the fisherman) - I am sure there is a lot of potential if you would promote the fishing at Murchison!! Almost everybody coming to Uganda is interested in wildlife and from those the chance that people are interested in hunting and/or fishing is extremely high. The fishing at the falls is a worldwide unique thing!!! If you could organize that a bit better (george is a good man) I am sure there is a lot of potential in it!!

Dear Joseph,Thanks for your message. As I told you, I experienced one of the happiest days of my life on Kalangala Island inside Lake Victoria! Your contribution to that was also important: I knew that you or Charles would be on hand if there were any problems.
Thank you very much for showing us the craft centre and waiting for us while we browsed amongst the fascinating stalls. I have already praised your services to our travel agent and given her your contact details.

Hi Joseph: We are still on our way home but will finally make it home tonight. Overall, the trip was fantastic. The highlights were the animals and the people. The major disappointment was the amount of time spent driving to and from the sites. It was the same in both uganda and kenya. Suggestions that might improve the trip for the next tourists would be to fly in or out of Rwanda. This would make the drive one way only and would provide a day of relaxation instead of all day travel. It was disappointing to take the boat out to Ha'Buharo in the dark and then leave the next morning with little or no chance to enjoy the place. It did look very nice.
The City Tour was good but a little to long. Highlight was spending time with the village brewers near Kasubi tombs.
Charles was great. We very much enjoyed our time with him. The problem at the border was no big deal. We appreciate that you and charles were able to work out a reasonable solution as quickly as you did.
Good luck in the future. We will tell our friends about our experience and guide them to you and Sandy and David.

"I have never seen wildlife in its natural habitat elsewhere apart from in Uganda. The tale of the Gorilla from Bwindi will always be in my mind and not forgetting exciting launch trip along Kazinga channel, the only point my eye could see huge hippos, buffaloes, antelopes, water bucks and countless populations of birds .oops! it was the best experience in my life. so impressive beyond my expectations; scenic sites, culture, photography, guides and not forgetting correct information from NLSF.I will always share this experience with my family, workmates and friends." 2004

"Truly speaking, I got a lot in the Uganda Safari especially the great images and memories of wild life, nice people, social culture, government management system and future development etc. It's also my luck to meet the best of the best Ugandan-Joseph and the young girl (we met in Queen Elizabeth but I cant spell her name) both come from Makerere University-The NO .1 Ugandan University! Also, I respect you as a nationalist because you taught all the young children to change their future by reading hard. I shall return to your beautiful country in the near future proceeding to climb the Rwenzori Mountains. Wishing you satisfactory in your work and will be promoted as the Director soon" 2002
